In response to Baltimore's predictable return to mediocrity, the Orioles have fired manager Lee Mazzilli.
Not much to say here. Mazzilli apparently made some folks in Baltimore unhappy last year, his first as manager, and he was thought to be on a short leash this season. The fast start would have, one thought, bought him a little more security, but with the Orioles having gone 9-28 in their last 37, management apparently decided they'd had enough...
