50 homers this year.

Setting a new Braves record for a single season.

Of course, it isn't as if the Braves have had many great power hitters over the years.

Well, other than maybe Hank Aaron. And Eddie Mathews. And Wally Berger. And Dale Murphy, Bob Horner, Darrell Evans, Gary Sheffield, Chipper Jones...

Seriously, though, I had no idea he was tearing it up like this. A terrific year for Jones, who many folks (including me) were dismissing as recently as May as an early peaker who wasn't ever going to fulfill the tremendous potential he showed when he burst into the league.

No telling whether this is a one-time surge, or if this is going to carry over to next season, but still...50 homers is a big deal...
