So after the sweep of the hated Mariners, the Rangers are back at .500...
I have to say, I had my doubts we'd see .500 again this season. With a rough final stretch of games, I'm not expecting to be at .500 to end the season, but the team has rebounded well the last week or two, and the pitching performances from the young guys have to make you feel a lot better about things than a few weeks ago...
According to the Star-Telegram, Chris Young will be back in the rotation as of Thursday, although he'll probably be on a short leash, with Josh Rupe ready to come in and relieve Young if need be. Young will be followed by Rogers on Friday, and Dickey on Saturday.
Also in the S-T, it is suggested that Mark Teixeira should be an MVP candidate. Teixeira has had a terrific year, but really, I don't see how anyone other than Alex Rodriguez deserves the MVP award.
ARod probably won't win it -- and it will be the 5th time in his career he's deserved the MVP, but has been passed over -- but ARod has been head and shoulders above the rest of the A.L. this year.
Wouldn't it be nice if we still had Alex Rodriguez in this lineup, along with Blalock, Young and Teixeira? And maybe Travis Hafner at DH, hitting behind ARod?
Ah, missed opportunities...
