Evan Grant analyzes Texas pitching under Hart

Extensive piece in the DMN analyzing how Rangers pitching has fared since John Hart took over as g.m., looking at the draft, development from within, and free agent acquisitions.

A very good breakdown of the mess Hart has overseen, although I disagree with Grant's characterization of the Ryan Drese waiving as one of the three worst pitching moves in Hart's tenure here.

Grant sums up the pitching situation in 2005 thusly:

A year of confusing moves makes it difficult follow a plan. Or it makes you wonder if there is one. Lately, though, young pitchers have shown some promise.
