Lou Piniella is out as manager of the D-Rays.
Apparently, he and the team negotiated a buyout of the $4.4 million he was owed for 2006.
And according to the article, Piniella can manage elsewhere next season.
I have to wonder if that puts a little more pressure on Joe Torre heading into this final weekend...
