The Buck replacement speculation thread

I'm clueless as to who a Buck replacement might be.

DeMarlo Hale, Don Wakamatsu, and Trey Hillman are all the names that come to mind immediately, but that's just speculation.

I agree with Tim Cowlishaw that you aren't going to see a someone like Dusty Baker or Felipe Alou here, and Joe Girardi is Buck Jr., which defeats the purpose of replacing Buck.

My guess...we'll get a laid-back, "player's manager," someone fairly young, who hasn't managed in the majors before. Probably a guy who has been a coach for a few years, or a minor league manager.

Anyway...feel free to discuss your thoughts on who could/should/might be a possible replacement as manager here...

Update [2006-10-4 11:2:44 by Adam J. Morris]: -- Candidates listed in the S-T:

There are plenty of candidates for a new manager. Should Daniels and Hicks opt for an experienced, veteran manager, Dusty Baker, Lou Piniella, Felipe Alou and Frank Robinson are available.

Other potential candidates include Rangers bench coach Don Wakamatsu, Rangers hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo, former Rangers farm director and current Nippon Ham Fighters (Japanese Pacific League) manager Trey Hillman, and former Rangers first base coach and current Boston Red Sox third base coach DeMarlo Hale.
