Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Mets are talking to Moises Alou about a two year deal.
This could impact the Rangers in a couple of ways...first of all, Alou has been talked about as a potential target for Texas, and him going off the market would mean one fewer option for that elusive DH/corner OF bat they are searching for.
However, it would also lock the Mets into an outfield of Alou/Carlos Beltran/Shawn Green, which could make Lastings Milledge and/or Ben Johnson available via trade.
The Mets are a team that could be in the market for relief pitching, so if they add Alou, you might see the Rangers try to deal some of their bullpen depth to the Mets to try to land Milledge or Johnson.
