Justin Speier to the Angels

The Angels have reportedly signed free agent reliever Justin Speier to a four year deal.

Speier is a Type A, meaning the Angels lose a draft choice...however, he has a lower score than GMJ does, so if the Angels sign GMJ as well, the Rangers would get Anaheim's first rounder, and Toronto their second rounder (assuming, of course, Anaheim doesn't sign anyone else).

In any case, it is a little ironic to see Anaheim, who has been the ultimate example of how you don't have to spend big money to build a bullpen over the last several years, now spending big money on a free agent reliever.

No money reported yet, but my guess is that this is will be about $18 million over 4 years.
