Doogie Davis a D-Back

The D-Backs have made a six player deal with the Brewers, getting Doug Davis, Dana Eveland, and Dave Kryznel from Milwaukee in exchange for Johnny Estrada, Claudio Vargas, and Greg Aquino.

Not sure what to think about this. Davis wasn't real good for the Brewers last year, after back-to-back solid seasons for them, and he's going to get about $5-6 million in arbitration this offseason. Estrada is a nice, serviceable catcher, a position where the Brewers have a bit of a hole, with Damian Miller being not very good, and old, and nicked up.

As for the rest of the guys in the deal...bleah. A bunch of waiver-wire caliber players, I think.

Update [2006-11-25 20:12:15 by Adam J. Morris]: -- For some reason, I thought Dana Eveland was 25 or 26. He's actually 23, and thought to be a fairly decent prospect. So he's better than a waiver-wire player.
