Rod Barajas has signed a two year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, for about $3 million per year.
Good news for the Rangers, who get the compensatory pick without having to offer arbitration, which would have been a dangerous move, since Barajas likely would have gotten in arbitration almost as much for 2007 as he's going to get paid for 2007 and 2008 under this contract.
The Rangers now have 2 first rounders, Anaheim's and Houston's, along with four sandwich picks.
