Most directly, he indicates that the Rangers are shopping Akinori Otsuka in the search for starting pitching (which, of course, is fine with me), and says the Cubs have lost out on Kenny Lofton to the Rangers, implying, anyway, that Lofton to Texas is pretty much a done deal.
Among other things, though, he bags on the contract Andy Pettitte got with the Yanks, saying it really isn't that good of a deal for New York, and indicates that Miguel Batista won't be going to the Royals or the Cards, leaving the Mariners, and possibly Texas and the Mets, as the last teams standing there.
