As was mentioned earlier, Evan Grant is reporting that Eric Gagne has to finish 66 games in order to earn the full $5 million in incentives in his contract.
In the A.L. last year, only one pitcher had as many as 60 games finished -- Joe Nathan, who finished 61 games. Mariano Rivera finished 59, and Bobby Jenks and K-Rod each finished 58.
In the N.L. last year, Ryan Dempster finished 64 games, Joe Borowski finished 60, and Chad Cordero and Billy Wagner each finished 59.
Finishing 66 games is a lot.
