Hillenbrand, for what it is worth, gets $6 million this year, and there's a $6.5 million vesting option for 2008, with a $500K buyout if the option doesn't vest and if the team doesn't exercise the option.
For those of you keeping track at home, the Rangers are paying Cat, who is a better hitter, more useful to the Rangers defensively, and hasn't tried to fight his manager, $1 million more over 3 years than the Angels are paying Hillenbrand over 2 (if the option vests).
