The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Astros and ChiSox are close to announcing a deal for ChiSox starter Jon Garland, who would go to the Astros for Wily Tavares and Taylor Buchholz.
I can't imagine that's the whole deal...that's a really lousy return for Chicago...

Update [2006-12-7 11:54:26 by Adam J. Morris]: -- Ken Rosenthal says Jason Hirsh would also be involved, which makes more sense, although he quotes Kenny Williams as saying that no deal is close, so this may be the Chronicle jumping the gun...
