Perry and Rosenthal items

Dayn Perry looks at the top 10 remaining free agents...

How bad is it out there? Richard Hidalgo is the third best free agent on the market (behind Roger Clemens and Jeff Weaver), with my favorite line being:

He's reportedly healthy now and should be in for a rebound season.

Yeah, that's what we hard about Hidalgo last year.

Even worse, #5, 6 and 7 on the list are former Rangers Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, and Pedro Astacio. Bleah.

Of course, according to Ken Rosenthal, the free agent pool is about to shrink even more, with Benjie Molina (4th on Perry's list) about to sign with the Blue Jays on a one year, $5 million deal with a $7.5 million option.

How sad...I was looking forward to seeing Molina really sit out the season, and re-enter the free agent market next winter...
