The Indians signed shortstop Jhonny Peralta to a 5 year, $13 million deal, with a club option for 2011.
Nice signing for the Indians. Locks up one of their core guys through arbitration, and gives them the right to have one of his free agent years, as well.
Given his production the last two years, his age, and the fact he's a pretty decent defensive shortstop, there seems to be little risk involved here for the Indians.
