Evan Grant chat transcript is up...

Highlights...Grant thinks the 5th starter spot will come down to Volquez v. Dominguez, Jon Leicester has not pitched well this spring and is likely going to be put on waivers later this month, Phil Nevin probably gets until June to show whether or not he can hit, and Joaquin Arias is the guy teams will be asking about in July if the Rangers are going to be buyers at the trade deadline.

Oh, and there's a Justin Thompson question...

The Rangers aren't thrilled about Francisco Cordero pitching in the WBC, for the obvious reasons.

Mark Prior has a shoulder strain...which will likely put him on the d.l. to start the season, but which is also pretty close to the best-case scenario, given the problems Prior was having...

Cristian Guzman has a torn labrum. He'll apparently try to rehab it, rather than undergo surgery...after all, it isn't like he could any worse hurt than he did last year healthy...

And finally, Gerald Laird is hitting .375 this spring, while Rod Barajas is hitting .190.

Clearly, this means Laird should be the starting catcher this year...
