Box score up from today's game...
Dominguez's line: 4 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 Ks, 0 walks. Both runs were on solo homers.
This would superficially appear to be a very solid outing for Dominguez in what Jan Hubbard claimed might have been his "last chance" to win a rotation spot. However, I imagine Buck will be grousing about the homers being the result of Dominguez's "lack of focus," or how he wasn't working fast enough, or something like that in the papers tomorrow.
Rashad Eldridge went 1 for 1, raising his spring average to .857. Go Rashad!!!!
Gerald Laird had 2 hits, including a homer, to raise his average this spring to .421. Since folks were arguing that Laird's poor spring last year, and Barajas's good spring, meant Barajas deserved to be the starter instead of Laird, I'd have to guess that those same folks are advocating that Laird be the starter this year...
Wasdin had another bad outing, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk in 2 2/3 IP, and Erasmo and Bauer each got rocked, as well.
And Laynce Nix finally recorded his first extra base hit of the spring, with a homer in the 9th, but he still went 1 for 5 on the day...I know I sound like a broken record, but I don't think he should be in contention to make the team out of spring training. Send him to AAA, and if GMJ isn't healthy, let Adam Hyzdu or Adrian Brown be the 4th outfielder...
