The Braves are shopping John Thomson, and looking for a lefty reliever in exchange, since Mike Remlinger is the only healthy lefty reliever they currently have.
The Rangers have a plethora of lefties right now, with Brian Shouse, C.J. Wilson, Erasmo Ramirez, Jesse Carlson, Kevin Walker, Ron Mahay and Fabio Castro all vying for major league opportunities.
If the Rangers could get Thomson for Shouse or Ramirez, plus maybe something else -- the Braves supposedly want a veteran bench player, which GMJ could provide if he were healthy, and which Mark DeRosa could provide right now -- then I think they need to do it.
Assuming, of course, they aren't going to go with Juan Dominguez...
