Bah

Thursday morning, and the Rangers are in second place, after blowing a game against the A's that they should have won yesterday.

I'm not going to re-hash all the things I posted about yesterday. I will reiterate, though, that I think Akinori Otsuka will be the closer as of tomorrow.

Not much of note in the news that hasn't already been touched on...Kat O'Brien says that Rod Barajas isn't going to lose his job, because he's going to start hitting, and because "his main responsibility is behind the plate anyway."

That would make a little more sense if he actually had a solid track record of hitting, and if Gerald Laird weren't just as good behind the plate as Barajas.

R.A. Dickey cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Oklahoma, as expected.

Richard Durrett is doing a chat session at the DMN today at 10 a.m. You can send questions in advance here, and you can enter the chat session here.

Finally, Todd Helton's mystery ailment has been diagnosed. It apparently isn't too serious, and he should be back before too long.
