Well, the big news is still the Cordero demotion, which was hit on at length yesterday...
Really, other than that, there's not much out there today...
Jan Hubbard writes on the Cordero demotion at more length, with Jon Daniels saying that Cordero is healthy and just needs to get some things straightened out.
And Evan Grant has a really good piece on the situation...according to Grant, teams have simply figured Cordero out. He's lost a bit off his fastball and slider, Grant says, and teams now know to lay off the slider out of the zone, which gets Cordero stuck in hitter's counts. Pretty interesting stuff from Grant here...check it out...
What will be interesting is to see how Buck uses him going forward...if he's going to use him in high-leverage situations earlier in the game, or if he's just going to be available for low-pressure situations.
The Cordero situation could ultimately end up affecting whether or not Fabio Castro sticks around, as well...if the Rangers already have one of their bullpen slots allocated to a guy Buck apparently can't "trust," and Cordero looks like he's heading towards that category, as well. With C.J. Wilson struggling, that suddenly makes the bullpen pretty short.
Richard Durrett's chat session is up. Some interesting items there, although again, Cordero talk dominates...
The USA Today has a write-up on Kevin Mench, focusing on his home run streak and (of course) the shoe problem...
