Opening Day...

At long last...Opening Day is here...

Kat O'Brien has a piece on the players' reactions to the Dellucci trade...Dellucci himself didn't seem too happy, saying that he wasn't "taking any more discounts," apparently alluding to the fact he took less money the previous offseason to stay in Texas. Evan Grant's article on the same issue in the DMN echoes the players' sadness over Dellucci's departure...

Gil LeBreton says to wait before passing judgment on the trades, saying that the Dellucci deal was a no-brainer for the Rangers. LeBreton also (incorrectly, I believe) says that critics "hated" the Soriano/Wilkerson trade because of Wilkerson's bad shoulder...that seems to be the deal that got the most praise this offseason...

Hubbard talks about Kevin Millwood's Rangers debut this afternoon...

And O'Brien has a piece on the sense of optimism surrounding the team...

I don't have much commentary on all this this morning, because I don't know that there is a whole lot to add...

I'm ready for us to start playing...
