Happy Tuesday

Good things today...

The Mavs pulled out an incredible victory in game 7 of an incredible series against the Spurs, in what was probably the best series I've ever watched. I didn't even feel happy last night, so much as drained and relieved...just an awesome 7 game stretch...

The Rangers won last night, while Oakland lost, putting the Rangers in first place...

And Jason Botts is being promoted...

I've hammered this point for a while, so I'm not going to re-hash why Botts being up and Phil Nevin being relegated to the bench is a good thing. But I will say this...I don't think Jason Botts was promoted to sit on the bench as the new Marshall McDougall/Drew Meyer, a guy who plays an inning in the field once a week and maybe, every six weeks or so, gets a start...

I have to think Jason Botts has been called up to get regular playing time. And I have to think that Jon Daniels wouldn't have called him up if Buck wasn't going to play him.

The Rangers are a better team today, with the addition of Botts, than they were yesterday.

More good news...the MRI on John Danks showed no structural damage to his elbow. He's going to miss one more start, then likely go back into the rotation.

And Erubiel Durazo has signed a minor league deal with the Yankees. Presumably, they'll now have Carlos Pena at first base at AAA, and Durazo at DH.
