I may have jinxed it.
After mentioning a week ago that Juan Pierre has just 2 RBIs on the year, he's gotten ribbies in back-to-back games the past two days, giving him 4 RBIs now for the season.
That jeopardizes his chances of knocking Enzo Hernandez from the record books, as the person with the fewest RBIs in a season while qualifying for the batting title. Pierre is now on pace for 13 RBIs for the year, while Enzo had 12 RBIs in 1971.
Still, I'm pulling for Juan, and hoping that the Cubs don't trade him to an American League team, which would likely doom his chances of setting the record.
