A thought on the Orioles

Eric Nadel's comments about Miguel Tejada reminded me...

I thought that, when if a team's superstar shortstop asked to be traded, the team has no choice but to trade him, even if it means getting a lousy return and paying part of his contract in the deal.

That, at least, is what a lot of Rangers fans seem to insist is the case, since they keep saying that the Rangers "had" to trade Alex Rodriguez, that he "forced" the Rangers to trade him.

And yet, in this case, Tejada demanded a trade, and ended up staying with Baltimore.

Very confusing...
