Tuesday morning Rangers stuff

The first place Texas Rangers won last night...

That's a phrase I could get used to...

The Rangers are now up a full game on Oakland, 4 games on Anaheim and 4.5 games on Seattle.

Jim Reeves has a column today on the leadership and contributions from Phil Nevin this year. Leadership is all well and good, but Nevin has an 803 OPS on the year, and is hitting .219/.318/.417 against righthanders. That's not real good from your DH or your #4 guy, and the Rangers may need to think about, at the very least, flip-flopping Blalock and Nevin in the order against righthanders. And finding a platoon partner for Nevin should be a priority...

Jan Hubbard hits on the baserunning problems from last night...I hate seeing outs on the basepaths...

Richard Durrett has some Kronkster love in the DMN this morning...it is still early, but doesn't Koronka have to start getting some consideration for ROY?

Robinson Tejeda is expected to be recalled on May 21. The next time the Rangers need a 5th starter is on May 16, and they are expected to go with Rick Bauer, John Rheinecker, or John Wasdin then.

And BP has this week's Prospectus Hit List up, with the Rangers coming in at #14.
