Not a whole lot this morning that hasn't already been touched on.
Kam Loe is heading to the d.l., and Freddy Guzman has been called up. Robinson Tejeda has to be recalled on Saturday to make that start against Colorado, and Grant says that a pitcher will probably be moved from the 25 man roster to make room for him:
To make room for Tejeda, the Rangers probably will have to expose right-hander Bryan Corey or left-hander Fabio Castro to waivers or option right-hander Scott Feldman to the minors.
Corey seems like the obvious choice, to me.
The Angels lost 2-1 to the Giants last night, dropping them to 7 games back of Texas and Oakland in the A.L. West.
I never thought Anaheim was as strong as a lot of folks did, in terms of being a playoff contender...and at this point, I think it is fair to say that they are, realistically, a non-factor in the race the rest of the way.
To get to 90 wins, the Angels would have to play .641 ball the rest of the way -- a pace that would be tantamount to 103 wins over a full season.
I just don't see that happening. The Angels aren't that good.
