BP's Playoff Odds Report pegs the Rangers as having just slightly more than a 73% chance of winning the A.L. West right now. Only the Mets, at a hair over 75%, are given better odds of winning their division.
The Ranger offense, which has seemed to be a bit erratic this year, ranks 7th in the majors in EQA. With Phil Nevin being shipped out of town, the Ranger lineup is pretty solid (at least, in terms of 2006 production) across the board...take away Rod Barajas and his .224 EQA, and the lowest EQA for any Ranger starter is Mike Young's .274, while the highest for any Ranger with at least 150 plate appearances is GMJ's .302.
