Tuesday morning things

Bah. What a crappy game last night.

Angles win, A's lose, so Anaheim -- who is red hot, but who I still don't think is that good -- is now tied with Oakland for first place, while the Rangers are a game back, in third place.

Jon Daniels thinks that the offense will improve, and instead is focusing on finding pitching in the trade market. Of course, as Evan Grant points out, there ain't much out there.

Kat O'Brien says that the Rangers aren't counting on Frankie Francisco, saying that the chances of him helping the team this season are "slim," given his setbacks in his rehab.

O'Brien also has this, on Omar Beltre:

The Rangers have two pitching prospects from the Dominican Republic who have been barred from entering the U.S. all year because of visa problems -- right-handers Omar Beltre and Alexi Ogando. Jon Daniels said Beltre, who has not been allowed in the U.S. since 2004, might well have reached the majors by now, and that Ogando, who was an outfielder until this year, has hit 100 mph on the radar gun several times recently.
