Putting this in perspective

The Rangers gave up more last year to get Matt Gryboski (RHP Matt Lorenzo) than they did this year to get both Matt Stairs and Kip Wells (Joselo Diaz and Jesse Chavez).

With the three deadline deals -- Lee, Stairs, and Wells -- the Rangers made the current team better, and didn't give up a single prospect in the process.

In fact, in adding Nelson Cruz, they improved the farm (although Cruz is in the majors for now).

Very good job by Jon Daniels. The Rangers may not make the playoffs this year, but Daniels made moves that improve their chances, and didn't hurt the team down the line in the process.
