Rosenthal on Danks

Ken Rosenthal has a new notes column up...some interesting stuff on various trade talks, including the BoSox being interested in Bobby Abreu. But Rosenthal also has this on John Danks:

Don't rule out the Rangers recalling Class AAA left-hander John Danks after the July 31 non-waiver deadline. Danks, 21, jumped from Class AA to become the youngest pitcher in the Pacific Coast League, but he's 2-1 with a 2.00 ERA after three starts and improving rapidly enough to merit consideration for a major-league promotion.

So much for the Rangers hinges on whether right-hander Adam Eaton makes a successful recovery from right finger surgery and if right-hander Kameron Loe boosts the bullpen after returning from a bone bruise on his right elbow. The Rangers can pursue a hitter if their pitching is reasonably whole. Danks could be an option for either the rotation or bullpen.
