Bad minor league news

Jason Botts goes on the d.l. with a broken hamate bone. That really sucks. Bad break for Botts, who now probably won't get any September playing time, whether the Rangers are in the race or out. This seems to hurt his chances of being the Ranger DH next year.

Evan Grant says that Kam Loe has been activated from the d.l. and optioned to AAA, so the team doesn't apparently think he'll be ready for the majors in the immediately future.

And Gerry Fraley says that teams shouldn't use high draft choices on positional players, but should draft lots of pitchers, and then trade the pitching prospects to get positional prospects.
