Buster Olney's latest talks about this article out of Boston, urging the BoSox to deal Manny Ramirez.
Olney speculates that the BoSox are unlikely to get better than a grade-B prospect for Manny, and even then, they'll have to eat some of his salary.
This is similar to my argument back in May, advocating going after Bobby Abreu...you have the opportunity to pick up a guy who is a top-tier talent, and don't have to do much besides assume his contract.
If Manny is on the market, I hope -- and expect -- that the Rangers will be in on him.
Really, I expect the Rangers to make heavy plays for Manny, Gary Sheffield, and Barry Bonds this offseason, and to end up with one of those three guys for 2007.
