Saturday morning stuff

Another Saturday, another day with little Ranger news, as we wait for spring training to start...

T.R. Sullivan has some tidbits on his blog, on various and sundry Ranger historical and trivia topics...

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports writes on the Sammy Sosa signing, and looks at it in the larger context of the swirling steroids scandal...

John Barten has a good piece on how managers' impacts are overstated, and how MLB needs to take a cue from the NBA in regards to small-market teams...

Doogie Davis signed a 3 year, $22 million deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks. As some of you probably know, I'm not a big Davis believer, and in the aftermath of his bad 2006 season, I'd be real reluctant to commit this sort of money to him for the next three years. The D-Backs obviously think he's a bounceback candidate, and that he can at least be a league-average innings-eater the next three years.
