The Phillies have acquired Chris Snelling from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, in exchange for cash.
I would have liked to have seen the Rangers get in on that. A healthy Snelling would probably be the best outfielder on the Rangers roster. Of course, that's sort of like saying a Rob Bell with his Loch Ness Curve working is a quality starting pitcher...given that it the determining condition never seems to occur, it becomes kind of moot.
Snelling is now with his 5th organization in the last year, having gone from Seattle to Washington as part of the Jose Vidro trade, from Washington to the A's for Ryan Langerhans, from Oakland to Tampa on a waiver claim, and now from Tampa to Philly.
