Rangers acquire Ben Broussard

Evan Grant reports that the Rangers have acquired Ben Broussard from the Seattle Mariners for infielder Tug Hulett.

Nick Gorneault has been designated for assignment.

Decent move, I guess...Broussard becomes the regular first baseman, I assume, which marginalizes Chris Shelton, and puts Frank Catalanotto back into a left field platoon (barring Cat getting traded, which I guess is also possible).

Gorneault was the obvious choice to be removed from the 40 man roster to make room for Milton Bradley...someone else will now have to be dropped, once Bradley passes his physical...

Hulett, I think folks here are familiar with...AAA infielder, someone who could end up getting some major league team as a utility infielder if he catches the fancy of a manager. But basically an organizational depth guy, not a real prospect.
