There's a story floating around right now, saying that Mark Cuban is preparing a $625 million bid for the Chicago Cubs.
The Tribune Company is supposedly interested in selling the Cubs at some point in the near future, so there could conceivably be something to this.
As a Mav fan, I'm torn...on the one hand, Cuban could go be a public buffoon up in Chicago for a while, and leave the Mavs in the hands of the basketball folks with the team, and that would be a good thing. On the other hand, I'm not sure whether it would result in more belt-tightening with the Mavericks (and make no mistake, Cuban is no longer in "money is no object" mode with the Mavs).
Anyway, just something to throw out there this afternoon...
