Oakland A's first baseman Dan Johnson will be starting the season on the disabled list. Johnson has torn cartilage in his hip, and reportedly could be out for up to three months.

Mark Kotsay and Bobby Kielty are also starting the season on the d.l., meaning that Oakland will have a starting outfield of Shannon Stewart, Milton Bradley and Nick Swisher for April, with Erubiel Durazo probably playing first base and Mike Piazza at DH.
