Some non-Ranger moves

A few other moves going down out there that don't involve the Rangers...

The New York Mets got Luis Castillo from the Twins for a couple of prospects I've never heard of.

The Phillies traded for Kyle Lohse, giving up AA lefty Matt Maloney, and the deal featured this comment from Pat Gillick:

"We like the Double-A pitcher, but we had to give up something to get something," Phillies general manager Pat Gillick said, adding that the Phillies needed a veteran pitcher.

That's the way to avoid getting attached to these guys, Pat...make sure they have designations, like "the Double-A pitcher," not names...

The Tigers put Kenny Rogers on the disabled list with inflammation in his elbow...

Octavio Dotel is apparently headed to Atlanta, in exchange for Kyle Davies, a 23 year old lefty righty who I've never been that enamored with, and who has been pretty bad this year. Dayton Moore, the Royals g.m., was with the Braves until about a year ago, and this is apparently a matter of him getting one of his old guys that he likes...
