The Rangers have reportedly exercised the option on Ron Washington's contract for the 2009 season.
Washington signed a two year deal with an option originally, and exercising the option seems to be pretty much a no-brainer...the Rangers weren't likely to send Washington into next season on the last year of his deal, and this gives Washington and Jon Daniels security through the 2009 season.
