Last game of the season today. I'm ready for this season to be over, I think.
Evan Grant hands out his "Evvy" Awards for the Rangers this season.
Grant also has a piece on Michael Young, who will miss today's game. Young says this is the toughest season he's had, and expresses some unhappiness over the team not winning.
T.R. Sullivan has some good notes up on his blog, although it is overshadowed by his inexplicable decision to name Sideshow Sammy the team's MVP. Sullivan has been pushing Sideshow all season, and I just have to assume he thinks the RBIs are the be-all end-all. There's no other possible way to justify picking Sosa as team MVP.
Ron Washington calls Ian Kinsler the most improved player on the team. And the improvement in Kinsler's defense since coming off the d.l. has been huge...Kinsler didn't have the big season with the bat I was expecting this year, but I still think he's going to be one of the top second basemen in the league the next few years.
The Newark Star-Ledger reports that the Rangers are thought to be planning a major run at Torii Hunter. That's not news to anyone down here, I don't think.
