Santana deal done?

USA Today is reporting that the Mets and Twins have agreed on a Johan Santana trade, subject to the Mets working out a contract extension with Santana.

Not sure what to think of the price:

The Mets paid a high price in prospects to land Santana, agreeing to send the Twins outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey.

Guerra and Gomez are in the category of guys who could be superstars, or could be busts. Mulvey is a middling arm who could be a back of the rotation starter, and Humber is an example of why mommas shouldn't let their pitchers go to Rice University.

Gomez could, I guess, step in immediately in centerfield, and addressing that was a priority for the Twins.

I guess I'm just surprised that this ended up being the best they could do.
