Santana, Mets agree to a deal?

Johan Santana and the Mets have supposedly agreed to a contract extension, reportedly 6 years at around $135 million.

Tacked on after his deal for 2008, it means the Mets will owe him $150.75 million over 7 years.

I'm sure you'll hear a lot of "that's nothing for the best pitcher in baseball." But I'm hard-pressed to think of the last 6-7 year deal for a pitcher that worked out well, long-term, for the team giving the contract.

And Santana will be 35 when the contract ends.
