Chris Davis heads back to first base

Evan Grant is reporting that the Rangers have decided to move Chris Davis back to first base, after last year's experiment with him at third base.

Davis's defense was, from what I understand, something of a work in progress at third base, and the Rangers don't really have a long-term solution in place at first base, so this makes sense. I'm a little surprised the decision came down so quickly -- I thought he might split time between the positions, at least this spring -- but Jon Daniels says he thinks Davis can make an impact more quickly at first.

I'm starting to wonder if we could see Davis in July or August in Arlington, if Ben Broussard doesn't get his pre-Seattle form back...
