Monday morning Ranger stuff

Jeff Wilson has a story on Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who appears slated to be the Rangers starting catcher this season, although Jon Daniels says Taylor Teagarden will get more playing time than the average backup.

Marlon Byrd is not going to be ready to go for today's intra-squad game or on Wednesday when spring games start, but his goal is to be 100% by March 10.

T.R. Sullivan calls Willie Eyre the Rangers' "forgotten man" in the bullpen, after Eyre missed all of 2008 with T-J surgery.

Sullivan also has a story up on some of the younger players learning the ropes at spring training.
