Sunday morning Rangers stuff

Anthony Andro's game story focuses on the Rangers inability to produce with runners on base yesterday.  There were some opportunities there, but when you are hitting Vizquel/Byrd/Jones 2-3-4, and when you've got both Hank Blalock and David Murphy in the lineup against a tough lefty pitcher, you have to expect you aren't going to score many runs.

Michael Young says he may be in the lineup today, and will definitely be in there on Tuesday.  Josh Hamilton is supposed to be back from the d.l. on Tuesday as well, which would get the roster back to full strength, and result in Joaquin Arias heading back to AAA.

Andro also suggests that we shouldn't get our hopes up about taking the rubber match today, because Bartolo Colon has been a Ranger-killer in the past.  This isn't the Cy Young-caliber Colon, though, so I like the Rangers' chances, if the good Padilla shows up for Texas.

Brett has a post up at the DMN blog analyzing the Rangers' performance in close games so far this year, and looking for trends.

Andro has some notes up with some injury updates and the like, that includes this reassuring news:

Triple A pitcher Neftali Feliz had his sore right shoulder looked at by team physician Keith Meister. Meister said Feliz’s shoulder was asymptomatic and he’s been cleared to resume a throwing program.
