Let's continue to enjoy this while we can.

One of the things that is interesting about this is that we discussed the opportunity, given the early schedule, to start off strong, and the possibility of making some noise early with the Angels having 3 of their 5 rotation members starting the season on the d.l.  After losing 7 of 8 to drop to 4-7 on the season, it looked like that was out the window.

But the Rangers now have the third-best record in baseball -- only the Dodgers and Blue Jays have a better winning percentage right now.

The Rangers are 8 games above .500 for the first time since this win on June 18, 2005, against the Nationals got Texas to 37-29.  They promptly lost 8 of 9 and 20 of 31 to drop out of the race and below .500.  Then in August they went on a 13 game road trip and went 1-12.  I had blocked that out of my mind, I think.

Anyway...the team is playing well.  It may last.  It may not.  But as long as it does last, I'm going to enjoy looking at the standings and seeing the Rangers in first place.
