The SBN baseball bloggers did a Hall of Fame ballot recently, and if the SBN bloggers were the Hall of Fame voters, we'd have exactly one inductee this year -- Bert Blyleven:
Name | Votes | Percentage |
Bert Blyleven | 48 | 92.3 |
Roberto Alomar | 38 | 73.1 |
Barry Larkin | 33 | 63.5 |
Tim Raines | 28 | 53.8 |
Mark McGwire | 27 | 51.9 |
Edgar Martinez | 25 | 48.4 |
Alan Trammell | 21 | 40.1 |
Andre Dawson | 17 | 32.7 |
Lee Smith | 14 | 26.9 |
Fred McGriff | 13 | 25.0 |
Dale Murphy | 9 | 17.3 |
Jack Morris | 7 | 13.5 |
Don Mattingly | 6 | 11.5 |
Harold Baines | 4 | 7.7 |
Kevin Appier | 2 | 3.9 |
Dave Parker | 2 | 3.9 |
Ellis Burks | 1 | 1.9 |
Ray Lankford | 1 | 1.9 |
Shane Reynolds | 1 | 1.9 |
You can check out a Google Docs spreadsheet that has each individual ballot here. The first LSB ballot listed is mine, the second is z's. There were 52 ballots in all.
That Tim Raines didn't get more support is baffling. That one voter had Dave Parker, Don Mattingly, Jack Morris, Harold Baines, and Dale Murphy on their ballot, but not Raines, is mindblowing.
