Some thoughts on Rangers/Rays Game 2

New, 637 comments

There's a sense of unreality for me right now, in regards to this series.

Maybe it is because the games are in the middle of the day, and I don't have all day to think about what is going to happen, and it feels like a weekend yesterday and today even though it isn't.

I don't know.

I also have to say that I was pretty obviously wrong about C.J. Wilson.  As recently as the All Star Break, I proclaimed the decision to move him the rotation a failure.  That was epicfail of a, well, epic nature.

Wilson was outstanding today.  The two Darrens closed it out.  Michael Young came through with a huge home run that took a game that was still close and put it, essentially, out of reach...that three run homer was a case of the Rangers having their foot on the Rays' neck and not letting them up.

Big game for Young.  Big game for Ian Kinsler.  Another solid performance by Nelson Cruz.

Time for Colbyashi to step up and slam the door on Saturday.
