Neftali Feliz Named A.L. Rookie of the Year

Neftali Feliz today has been named the American League Rookie of the Year, beating out Austin Jackson of the Detroit Tigers.

Feliz set a rookie record for saves in a season, was the youngest player ever to record 40 saves, and was generally pretty awesome.

This is the first Rookie of the Year the Rangers have had since 1974, when Mike Hargrove won the award.

Feliz received 20 first places votes, compared to 8 for Jackson.  Danny Valencia and Wade Davis finished third and fourth, respectively.
